Objective of the Human Trafficking Task Force:

To establish a multi-disciplinary regional coalition supported through guidance front he State Task Force via the Attorney General's Office; Provide education and awareness to prevent and expose human trafficking; Coordinate existing services for victims and survivors of human trafficking while identifying additional needs with the following counties: Aiken, Barnwell, Allendale, Saluda, McCormick and Edgefield. 

The Task Force has been broken into subcommittees of individuals based upon their interest and are as follows:

Prevention Education and Outreach: Identifies, trains and maintains a speakers Bureau, and schedules presentations though out the six counties. 

Youth Advocacy: Works with regional youth organizations and leaders to provide age appropriate information and speakers to increase awareness.

Direct Services (Child and Adult): Coordinates and communicates among service providers to provide seamless delivery of quality services to trafficked adult and child victims.

Law Enforcement: Strives to train other law enforcement in the region about human trafficking; Provides available resources to law enforcement to support their efforts; points of contact though out he six counties served.

Legal Innovations: strives to ensure the law adequately addresses the offense of human trafficking, regardless of whether the trafficking is for the purpose of sex, labor or otherwise; establishes a forum to help post trafficked victim. 

Labor Trafficking: In collaboration with the State Task Force Sub-Committee, targets specific business sectors to provide training, general awareness and resources to prevent the crime.

Healthcare: Work in partnership with the State Task Force Healthcare Providers Sub-Committee to educate medical providers within the region including the use of new SC Human Trafficking Healthcare Protocol: collect requests for HT resources and distribute items to healthcare providers in the region.

Survivor Advocacy: Provide survivor insight and feedback to help shape services and initiatives.
