These Volunteers are supportive advocates of the Cumbee Center for victims of domestic violence at the emergency shelter. They help maintain the emergency shelter and keep it as home-like as possible for the clients staying there. As a result of their efforts, clients will feel more protected in the emergency shelter and they will know there are people who care about them and their children.
Emergency Shelter Advocates are given the opportunity to offer a variety of services from talking with clients, reading and playing with children, to doing maintenance and yard work.
Each volunteer is required to sign and complete a Volunteer Hours Log Form detailing the hours they spent at the emergency shelter.
