Aiken sign display marks the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month

People traveling along Aiken’s Whiskey Road Saturday morning were reminded that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 

A group of volunteers, led by Cumbee Center employees, held up signs to begin the center’s activities for the month at the H. Odell Weeks Activity Center Saturday morning.

The Cumbee Center will hold a chili cookoff from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. next Saturday at the recreation center. And the annual Whiskey Road race is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Nov. 4. Start and finish for the race will also be at the activity center.
